Donald F. O'Malley, Jr., M.D. is a third generation orthopedic surgeon from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who joins the faculty of Duke University with the creation of Duke Orthopaedics of Raleigh. Dr. O’Malley is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and he completed his Orthopaedic Residency training at the University of Pittsburgh as well. While at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. O’Malley trained with some of the leaders in the fields of Sports Medicine and Total Joint Replacement, and has treated professional and amateur athletes, including members of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Pitt Panthers, the Pittsburgh Ballet, and athletes from other local colleges and high schools.
Dr. O’Malley has been in private practice since 1995, and Dr. O’Malley brings his extensive Sports and Total Joint experience to the Duke team and to the Raleigh area.
Dr. O’Malley is an alumnus of Davidson College (1986), where he met his wife Cheryl, a Raleigh native and the daughter of longtime Raleigh surgeon, Dr. Fred Ng of Wake Surgical Center. They have two young active children, who are involved in soccer, golf and tennis. The O’Malley’s reside in North Raleigh. Dr. O’Malley is an avid golfer, tennis player and sports/fitness fan. The healthy lifestyle of the Carolinas is a great benefit to Dr. O’Malley who enjoys treating athletes of all ages and skill levels. |

Michael C. Comstock , M.D.
Dr. Michael Comstock has practiced orthopedic surgery in Raleigh, NC since 1993. Dr. Comstock graduated from the George Washington University School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic surgery training at the University of Florida. Dr. Comstock worked as a team physician for the NC State Athletics for the past 15 years. In addition to Dr. Comstock’s work in Sports Medicine, his orthopaedic practice includes Joint Replacement, Foot and Ankle Surgery and Fracture Care.
